Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma targeted in chilling poster warning

Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has been targeted in a chilling poster warning. The posters were found in the Aggyathuri area in Kamrup district, near Ganesh Mandir, which falls within the former Jalukbari constituency and is now part of Hajo.

The posters, which were written in Assamese, read: “Himanta Biswa Sarma, you are engaging in actions detrimental to Assam, and you should now cease these actions immediately or else you will be killed.”

The posters have caused widespread outrage and concern. Many people have condemned the threat to Sarma’s life and have called on the police to investigate the matter thoroughly and bring the perpetrators to justice.

The Assam Police have registered a case under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and are investigating the matter. The police have also increased security around Sarma and his family.

It is not yet clear who is behind the threat to Sarma’s life. However, some people have speculated that it could be the work of a militant group or a political opponent.
