Prabhas-Kriti Sanon starrer earns measly Rs 14 cr in second weekend despite reducing ticket prices twice. The collections have come in after the makers changed its controversial dialogues penned by Manoj Muntashir and slashed the ticket prices to Rs 150 and then announced a further reduction with tickets available at Rs 112. The offer started from Sunday but perhaps did little to help the film, which was mired in controversy right from the day of its release.
The fate of Adipurush was sealed earlier last week when it witnessed a mammoth drop in collections on its first Monday and the Prabhas starrer has now pretty much exhausted its run by its second weekend. The Om Raut directorial on its second Sunday minted merely Rs 6 cr, according to industry tracker Sacnilk.
Adipurush, the big screen Ramayana adaptation, had managed to record an impressive first weekend of Rs 113 cr in Hindi alone, but the film witnessed a drastic fall, making its second weekend a mere Rs 14 cr, all India nett.
On its second Sunday, the film managed to put up Rs 6 cr across all languages, of which its Hindi collections are reported to be around Rs 3.25 cr, with 16.34 percent occupancy in Hindi. The film’s all India nett now stand at Rs 274.55 CR, with its lifetime Hindi collections expected to finish in the range of Rs 135-140 cr.
Adipurush grossed over Rs 400 crore worldwide and is now heading towards Rs 450 crore-mark. On Sunday, June 25, the film saw a slight growth at the domestic box office. It is estimated to have collected approximately Rs 6 crore net in India. This takes the 10-day total collection to Rs 274.55 crore.
On June 25, the film registered an occupancy of 16.34 per cent in India. It is to be seen how the film performs in its second and third week in theatres.
This is the third consecutive flop for Prabhas after Radhe Shyam and Saaho, as the actor has failed to repeat the box office charm of his historic blockbuster Baahubali.
