Villagers in the Tawang sector of Arunachal Pradesh have slammed China for its aggressive claims on the region, reaffirming that Arunachal Pradesh is an integral part of India.
The villagers, who have been living in the region for generations, say that they have never felt any connection to China and that their culture and heritage is deeply Indian. They also point out that Arunachal Pradesh has been a part of India since independence, and that there is no historical or legal basis for China’s claims over the region.
The villagers’ statements come at a time when China has been increasing its military presence in the region and making more aggressive claims on Arunachal Pradesh. This has raised concerns among the people of Arunachal Pradesh, who fear that China may try to take over the region by force.
In August this year, China released a ‘standard map’ claiming Arunachal Pradesh and Aksai Chin as part of its territory.
The villagers of Sengnup, Kharseneng, and Grengkhar villages under the Tawang sector said that they are living in a peaceful environment and they feel secure because of the Indian army and the current government.
Sange Dorjee, a villager of the Kharseneng area told ANI that, the Prime Minster Narendra Modi government at the Centre and the Prema Khandu-led Arunachal Pradesh government have done lots of developmental work in the bordering villages.
“Earlier, the road condition in our area was so bad, but the current government has made a concrete road in our village for which the villagers are getting suitable road connectivity. Most of the people in our village are farmers and the government has extended help to the farmers also. We are happy with the works done by both Central and state governments,” Sange Dorjee said.
On the other hand, Karchung, a local resident of Grengkhar village said that they feel proud as an Indian.
“We are with the Indian army and the government. China is claiming Arunachal Pradesh as their part, but Arunachal Pradesh is an integral part of India. We will not bow down to China. If needed we will go with the Indian army to fight against China”, Karchung said.
The villagers’ statements are also a reminder that the people of Arunachal Pradesh are determined to defend their homeland and their Indian identity. They will not allow themselves to be intimidated by China’s aggressive claims.
The Indian government has also been taking steps to strengthen its military presence in Arunachal Pradesh and to counter China’s aggressive claims. The government has also been working to improve the infrastructure and development of the region.
The people of Arunachal Pradesh are confident that the Indian government will protect them from China’s aggression. They are also confident that Arunachal Pradesh will remain an integral part of India.
