Digital Desk: Guwahati Police on Friday night confiscated 2,640 kilogrammes of suspected cannabis from an oil tanker, marking an important triumph in the war against drugs.
Guwahati Police apprehended an oil tanker coming in from a nearby state Friday night and recovered 2,640 kg of suspected ganja in 134 packages hidden in a secret room during police anti-drugs operation. Two people were also detained on the spot by police.
Law enforcement promptly apprehended the two individuals responsible for the contraband’s delivery. Reportedly, the two individuals identified as Kasim Ali and Mukut Ali, both from Baksa.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma complimented the Guwahati Police on their achievement on social networking platform X (previously known as Twitter).
Legal action has been taken against those who have been taken into custody. Further details awaited.
