New Delhi: The Delhi High Court on September 18, 2023, allowed Delhi University (DU) to offer admissions to its newly introduced five-year integrated law course on the basis of CLAT-UG scores for the academic year 2023-24.
The court passed the interim order while observing that classes for the current academic year have already commenced in other universities. However, the court made it clear that the order was only for the current academic year and that DU would have to follow the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) UG 2023 for admissions to its law course from the next academic year.
The order came as a relief to DU and many law aspirants who had been preparing for CLAT-UG. The court’s decision is also expected to bring more parity in law admissions across the country.
