Govt making every effort to provide resources, favourable research ecosystem: PM Modi on CSIR’s foundation day

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 26, 2023, said that the government is making every effort to provide resources and a favorable research ecosystem to the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) on its 80th foundation day.

Modi said the government is leaving no stone unturned to complement the efforts of scientists by providing all the resources to them and fostering a dynamic and favourable research ecosystem.

The prime minister said this in a message on the 82nd Foundation Day of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR).

The Prime Minister said that CSIR has played a vital role in India’s scientific and technological development, and that its contributions have been immense.

“CSIR has played a major role in India’s scientific and technological development. It has made significant contributions to various fields, including agriculture, healthcare, and energy,” PM Modi said.

The Prime Minister also said that the government is committed to promoting scientific research and innovation in the country.

“The government is committed to promoting scientific research and innovation in the country. We are making every effort to provide resources and a favorable research ecosystem to CSIR,” PM Modi said.

“The indefatigable efforts of our space and science ecosystem has showcased to the world that even the sky is not the limit for us,” Modi said, lauding the contribution made by the CSIR laboratories in the success of the Chandrayaan-3 mission.

CSIR is India’s largest research and development organization. It has 38 national laboratories, 39 outreach centers, and four institutes. CSIR is engaged in a wide range of research activities, including agriculture, aerospace, biotechnology, chemicals, construction, drugs and pharmaceuticals, electronics, environment, food, geospatial, healthcare, housing, leather, materials science, minerals and metals, oceanography, physical and chemical sciences, and textiles.
