Indian youth are becoming job creators: Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal

Guwahati: Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal Tuesday said that the youths of today in India have changed from being job seekers to job creators with the start-up ecosystem witnessing a major boom.

He claimed that eradication of corruption from the government recruitment process has further enabled the youth to seek service to the nation on the basis of merit alone.

Addressing a Rozgar Mela at Guwahati, the Union Minister, Sonowal said, “Under the visionary leadership of PM Shri Narendra Modi ji, the effort has been to bring mindset change of the society about the youth – from the role of job seekers to job creators. ‘Self employment’ and entrepreneurship are becoming popular occupational choices.

In the Start Up space, 2.60 LAKH jobs were created in 2022 and over 9 LAKH jobs created since 2017. Today, India has become one of the most looked up nations in the world since PM Narendra Modi. The presidency of G20 and its successful outcome through Leader’s Declaration, bringing in the African Union into the fold at India’s behest, exemplifying the true meaning of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam,’ – One World, One Family, One Future – built its reputation as a ‘leader of global south’.

Gone are those days when youths of the country had to fight the evil of corruption in the govt job selection under Congress misrule. Thanks to visionary leadership of Prime Minister Modi ji, this evil of corruption from the govt job selection system has been systematically weeded out. This is welcome break since 2014 has provided our youth with an honest option to become part of nation building via govt jobs, based on merit. As you join the government and further the role of Karmayogis through your work on nation building, India aims to become a Vikashit Bharat by 2047.”
