India’s Independence Day can be celebrated as a national day in America. A group of Indian-American lawmakers led by US MP Shri Thanadar has proposed to the House of Representatives of the US Parliament (Parliament of US) to declare India’s Independence Day as the national day of the world’s two largest democracies.
The resolution of the US Parliament said that the relationship between the US and India is very strong. The seeds of democratic values lie between two powerful countries. Working together for global democracy, peace, stability and prosperity.
The proposal was introduced in the House of Representatives on behalf of US Congressman Thanadar. This proposal was later supported by US Congressmen Buddy Carter and Brad Sherman. The resolution mentions that Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the United States on June 22.
