Manipur: NIA arrests second accused in transnational conspiracy case

Imphal: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested a second accused, Seiminlun Gangte, on September 30, 2023, in Manipur in connection with a transnational conspiracy case. The case was registered suo motu by the NIA on July 19, 2023, against Myanmar and Bangladesh-based leadership of terror outfits for waging war against India by exploiting the ongoing ethnic unrest in Manipur.

The NIA said that Gangte was involved in providing funds and other support to the terrorist outfits. He was also involved in recruiting new members for the terrorist outfits and in planning and executing attacks.

The NIA said that the arrest of Gangte is a significant breakthrough in the case and will help to further unravel the transnational conspiracy to wage war against India.

The arrest of Gangte is a positive development and shows that the NIA is committed to combating terrorism in all its forms. It is also a reminder that the threat of terrorism is still very real and that we all need to be vigilant.
