New uniform for staff in new Parliament

New Delhi: The staff of the new Parliament building will be getting a new uniform. The uniform has been designed by the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) and is inspired by Indian culture.

The uniform for the male staff consists of a cream-colored shirt with a pink lotus flower print, a maroon sleeveless jacket, and khaki trousers. The female staff will wear a cream-colored saree with a pink lotus flower print border.

The new uniforms have been handed over to all the 271 staff, including chamber attendants and those deployed for verbatim reporting service, officials said. They added that security officers from the Parliament Security Service (Operations) deployed will don army camouflage fatigues instead of the blue safari suit.
