TDP MP Ravindra Kumar has alleged that the arrest of Chandrababu Naidu, the former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, is a case of political vendetta.
Naidu was arrested by the Andhra Pradesh Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on September 10, 2023, in connection with a case of alleged corruption in the construction of a skill development centre. He has been remanded in judicial custody for 14 days.
Kumar has said that the arrest is a “clear case of political vendetta” and that the CID has been used by the ruling YSRCP government to target Naidu and his party. He has also alleged that the case against Naidu is false and that he has been framed.
The YSRCP government has denied the allegations of political vendetta and has said that the arrest is based on evidence. The government has also said that Naidu is being treated fairly and that he will get a fair trial.
The arrest of Naidu has sparked a political controversy in Andhra Pradesh. The TDP has called for a statewide shutdown on September 11, 2023, to protest the arrest. The YSRCP has accused the TDP of trying to create a law and order situation in the state.
The case against Naidu is still under investigation and it is not yet clear whether he will be charged with any crime. However, the arrest has already had a political impact in Andhra Pradesh and it is likely to be a major issue in the upcoming assembly elections.
