Virat Kohli slams sensational ton vs SRH to end 4-year wait for IPL century; equals Gayle’s magnificent record

Virat Kohli scored a blistering 100 as he and skipper Faf du Plessis guided Royal Challengers Bangalore to an 8-wicket win over the Sunrisers Hyderabad. Kohli (100) and du Plessis (71) made short work of the 186-run chase as they got to the target with 4 balls to spare.

This was Kohli’s first century in the ongoing season; he equalled former teammate Chris Gayle for most three-figure scores in the league (6).

Kohli slammed 100 off just 63 balls, while captain Faf du Plessis hit 71 off 47 deliveries to complement him. Kohli and Faf put on 172 runs for the first wickets as RCB chase down 187 with four balls to spare. Earlier, Heinrich Klaasen slammed his maiden IPL century to power SRH to a total of 186/5. Klaasen slammed 104 off just 51 balls with the help of eight fours and six sixes. Michael Bracewell struck twice in the fourth over of the innings to dismiss both Abhishek Sharma and Rahul Traiptahi.
